A quick look into Western's beginning to the 2006-07 season, predictions for the upcoming weekend and a little more on UNO's "very involved" pep band, whatever that means.
The 2006-07 hockey season is less than a week away - hooray! - and Crimson Issue (currently under construction) is beginning it's second full season of covering Maverick hockey. If anyone would like to contribute to the website as a columnist, feel free to drop us a line at crimsonissue@gmail.com with any ideas, questions or suggestions you might have. Thanks!
UNO will enter the 2006-07 season ranked #21, if you like, fifteen points behind Clarkson at the bottom of the USCHO / CSTV preseason top 20 table - although, keep in mind that preseason is sort of the operative word here - while Wisconsin and Boston College actually share the top spot coming into the new season.
Michigan State leads the CCHA contingent at #5 in the poll, with one first place vote...erm, okay...while Michigan and Miami are in the seventh and eighth spots. Ohio State comes in at #17, two spots ahead of Northern Michigan. Along with UNO, Notre Dame, Lake Superior, Ferris State and Alaska (sans -Fairbanks now, apparently) also received votes.
